Meet the STREEM Board 2024-2025
Ruben Schaap pursued his bachelor’s degree in Spatial Planning in Utrecht, where he still lives. In his final bachelor’s year, he attended a minor in Real Estate Economics and Finance at VU Amsterdam, which inspired him to seek a master’s programme with a similar focus. This led him to the STREEM master’s programme, specializing in Urban and Regional Economics. Alongside his studies, he works part-time at a small consulting firm in environmental law and spatial planning. As a member of the STREEM board, he looks forward to supporting both students and teaching staff through the educational committee.
Fabian Riza is a student enrolled in the STREEM program at VU Amsterdam, pursuing the transport economics track. Previously, he completed his bachelor's degree in Economics at Universitas Indonesia. Before coming to Amsterdam, Fabian was involved in a number of research projects in Jakarta, with a particular interest in the transport sector, hence the choice to pursue master's study at STREEM. As a member of your STREEM board, Fabian is on the educational committee and hopes to contribute to your time studying at the VU!
Lewis Shanahan received his bachelor's degree in Economics from University College Cork, Ireland, in 2019. He relocated to Den Haag in 2022 to work in the energy sector and is now pursuing a specialisation in Environmental Economics at VU Amsterdam. As a member of the STREEM social committee he hopes to enhance your student experience.
Josemaria Tito Péndola holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Amsterdam, where he specialized in Public Policy and Governance and completed the Honours Programme in Social Sciences. Currently pursuing a master’s in STREEM at VU Amsterdam, he has also worked as a Cultural Mediator at FairWork, supporting Spanish-speaking migrants with labour rights inquiries. As part of the social committee, Josemaria is focused on enriching the student experience by fostering a collaborative and dynamic community.
