It is not simply a choice between building in &#8220;safe&#8221; or &#8220;unsafe&#8221; areas. Densification in existing cities can actually create social prosperity &#8211; prosperity that is needed to invest in climate adaptation.<br><br>By explicitly bringing together economic benefits, climate risks and adaptation costs, Premchand and Mulder are developing a clear and transparent framework for spatial choices.
